Did you hear David Archuleta's big announcement?

Tonight during his Salt Lake City concert he announced that he has decided to serve a mission for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints.

Seriously? I think this is so awesome, and its so great that he's doing it on his own choice. "It's not because someone told me that I'm supposed to do it, and not because I no longer want to do music, but because it's the feeling that I've felt I need to do this with my life," he said.  He won't regret this decision for a minute! The decision to put his music career on hold for two years couldn't have been easy. But he will be greatly blessed for his decision to serve the Lord and preach what he believes in!

I love everyone's reaction and the support he is already receiving from his fans in his decision to serve! I also love how overcome with emotion he gets when everyone cheers for him!

I acutally met David way back when, before he became famous (He was in elementary school with my little brothers and was in their 2nd and 3rd grade class. And they are both currently serving missions themselves) He has always been a sweet kid and I think he will make a great missionary!
